There is a lot of buzz about the suffering travel industry all over the world due to recession. All of what you have heard is true. People have cut their travel in desperate efforts to control their expenses or to save their money.
But if you have a secure job and a decent saving in your account I would suggest you to take a trip. Do not be surprised. I have two good reasons fro that.
You are going to get the best deals
Because of the looming economy prices the tourist resorts, hotels and airlines are all seeing bad days. As a result they have reduced their rates to unbelievable amounts. The tourists spots and hotels have also reduced their per night rates. They are offering deals like ‘spend 3 nights and get 2 free’. Some of them are offering complementary buffet lunches or their spa and theatre tickets.
The theme parks are offering deals like ‘buy a one night stay and get all the rides for free’ or ‘half-priced tickets for toddlers’ etc. even the luxury and 5 star hotel chains have also reduced their rates.
On the other hand the airlines are offering cheaper tickets to many exotic locations. They are also giving special discounts to the business class passengers.
So can even plan a trip you had always dreamed of but though it would be too expensive.
It would might prove to be cheaper for you
You might be aware that the value of American dollar is comparatively higher than most of the other currencies of the world. So if you plan to visit another country with currency rates lower than the American dollar, living there for a longer period of time would actually be cheaper than living in America!!
So pack your backpack and hit the road. This might be the best time for you to travel.
